Flash Tanks/Vessel

A flash tank is a vessel used to separate steam from high-pressure condensate by rapidly reducing the pressure, causing a portion of the liquid to "flash" into steam, which can then be captured and reused for other low-pressure steam applications. The remaining liquid (condensate) is returned to the system. Essentially, it converts high-pressure condensate into usable low-pressure steam by utilizing the pressure difference between the incoming condensate and the lower pressure within the tank.
